Signature Moments

1992 Finals — Going Toe-to-Toe with Jordan

June 1992·vs vs Chicago Bulls

Drexler averaged 24.8 points in the 1992 Finals against Jordan. He was brilliant — but Jordan was transcendent. The direct comparison defined Drexler's career: he was one of the five best players in basketball, but he played in Jordan's era.

He was phenomenal and it wasn't enough. Jordan turned the 1992 Finals into a "Who's better?" showcase and won decisively. Drexler was a victim of timing.

1995 Championship — Reuniting with Hakeem

June 1995·vs vs Orlando Magic

Traded to Houston mid-season, Drexler reunited with his University of Houston teammate Hakeem Olajuwon. The Rockets swept the Magic in the Finals. Drexler finally got his ring at age 32, proving he was always a champion-caliber player.

The Phi Slama Jama reunion. Two college teammates, 12 years later, winning a championship together. Hollywood couldn't write it better.

Clyde the Glide — Portland's Greatest

1983-1995·vs vs Entire NBA

Drexler led Portland to two NBA Finals appearances and was a 10-time All-Star. He could score from anywhere, had elite athleticism, and was the complete package at shooting guard. Trail Blazers fans consider him the greatest player in franchise history.

If Jordan didn't exist, Drexler would have been the best shooting guard of his era. He was that good. Jordan just happened to be better.
