Signature Moments

The Shot — 2016 Finals Game 7

June 19, 2016·vs vs Golden State Warriors

Game 7. 89-89 with under a minute left. The Warriors had won 73 games. Kyrie Irving pulled up for a three-pointer over Stephen Curry — the MVP, the greatest shooter alive — and drained it. The shot that gave Cleveland its first championship in 52 years. LeBron got the block. Kyrie got the dagger.

He hit the biggest shot of the decade over the best shooter who ever lived. In Game 7 of the Finals. With everything on the line.

Uncle Drew — The Cultural Phenomenon

2012-2018·vs N/A

Kyrie's "Uncle Drew" Pepsi commercials became a cultural phenomenon, eventually spawning a feature film. He dressed as an old man and embarrassed real pickup players with his handles. It transcended basketball — your grandma knew Uncle Drew.

A Pepsi commercial became a movie. Kyrie's handles were so absurd that dressing as an old man was the only way to make them believable.

57 Points in a Loss — The Solo Mission

March 12, 2015·vs vs San Antonio Spurs

Kyrie scored 57 points against the Spurs — the most disciplined defensive team in basketball — including 28 in the fourth quarter. He lost the game. But the performance announced that Kyrie Irving, handle for handle, bucket for bucket, might be the most skilled offensive player in the world.

Fifty-seven against the Spurs. He made Tim Duncan's defense look mortal. The handle, the finishing, the shotmaking — no one does it quite like Kyrie.
