Signature Moments
1975 Finals MVP — Sweeping the Bullets
Barry led the Warriors to a stunning sweep of the favored Bullets in the 1975 Finals, averaging 29.5 points per game. He was Finals MVP and proved he was one of the most versatile scorers in basketball history.
He swept the heavily favored Bullets. Four games. Done. Barry was the most complete scorer of the 1970s.
The Granny Shot — 90% Free Throws
Barry shot free throws underhanded — the "granny shot" — and made 89.3% for his career. Every study showed it was more accurate than overhand shooting. But no one else would do it because it looked funny. Barry didn't care about looking cool. He cared about making shots.
He shot granny style and was the best free-throw shooter alive. Pride cost every other player points. Barry valued winning over vanity.
