Signature Moments

8 Points in 8.9 Seconds

May 7, 1995·vs vs New York Knicks

Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semis. The Knicks led by 6 with 18.7 seconds left. The game was over. Then Reggie Miller scored 8 points in 8.9 seconds — a three, a steal, another three, and two free throws. Madison Square Garden went from euphoria to devastation in under 9 seconds.

Eight points in nine seconds. In the Garden. Against the Knicks. It's the most impossible scoring burst in playoff history.

The Choke Sign — Trolling Spike Lee

June 1, 1994·vs vs New York Knicks

Game 5 of the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals. Miller scored 25 points in the fourth quarter, then turned to Spike Lee — sitting courtside — and made the choke sign. The Knicks' famous superfan had been heckling Miller all game. Miller finished with 39 points and the win.

He didn't just beat the Knicks — he taunted their most famous fan on national television. Reggie Miller lived for the villain role.

The Knick Killer — A Career of Pain

1990s·vs vs New York Knicks

Miller tormented the Knicks for an entire decade. Every playoff meeting became personal. He averaged 28.9 points against New York in the postseason. MSG fans hated him more than any visiting player in arena history — which is exactly how he wanted it.

He turned an entire franchise into his personal content. The Knicks still flinch when they hear his name.
